Transcend has announce the release of their new 3D TLC NAND, which comes in 2.5-inch and M.2 form factors, perfect for embedded applications.

Transcend’s New 3D TLC NAND

Transcend Announce New 3D TLC NAND - SSDs For Embedded Applications 29With the new 3D TLC NAND flash memory, it gives greater capacity and performance by stacking layers of memory cells. Compared to Planar NAND, 3D NAND provides with faster, reliable, and offers greater performance. Another point on 3D NAND is that devices manufactured with it are price competitive, making them a decent choice when it comes to embedded systems.

Exclusively, Transcend’s 3D TLC also features SLC caching that enhance writing and product longevity, a RAID engine to protect data and offer stability, as well as low-density parity check (LDPC) to automatically correct errors.

It comes with their SSD Scope Pro Software, which monitors the device’s health and ensures that embedded SSDs run more efficiently. Other tools included are View Drive Information, View S.M.A.R.T Status, Diagnostic Scan, Secure Erase, Health Indicator, System Clone, and Firmware Update.
