Transcend StoreJet 600 external SSD for Mac; sleek, fast and HFS+ format out of the box
What’s fast and Space Gray in color? No, it’s not an iDevice or a Mac, but its the Transcend StoreJet 600 for Mac. It is like the Transcend TS-CM80S we have previously reviewed, only it’s now in space grey and actually comes with an SSD inside while also supporting the faster USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) interface. Also, the drive is pre-formatted to HFS+ for easy use with Mac systems.
The compact StoreJet 600 is going to be fast with the aforementioned USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface, with it also supporting UASP standards for transfer rates of up to 470 MB/s. Notably this barely takes advantage of the 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds. It will come with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable as well as a USB Type-C to Type-A cable to accommodate all recent Macs.
Transcend Elite will be bundled with the StoreJet 600 to handle backup and restoration duties, data encryption and cloud backup. The Transcend StoreJet 600 for Mac will be available in 240GB capacity, backed by Transcend’s three-year limited warranty.
