At the end of last year, we saw the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and now we’re hearing some details of its successor, the Mi Mix 4. The company’s top executive has said that the flagship smartphone will offer a class-leading camera sensor to boast.

What’s special about the new phone? Well Wang Teng, Xiaomi’s Product Director has said that the phone will feature a ‘better’ sensor than the 64MP sensor on the market right now, Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1.

This could mean that we will see Sony’s own 64MP sensor instead (although it is still yet to be released). Recent years has been a progress for smartphone photography, with brands look to fit in more camera sensors on their devices such as the HUAWEI P20’s triple camera and Nokia 9 PureView’s penta camera setup.

Earlier in the year, HONOR started the trend of 48MP sensors with their HONOR View20 smartphone and since then, we saw a number of smartphones equipping the same sensor.

Do you want to find out more on 48MP sensors? You can do so at our previous article right here.

Pokdepinion: Hopefully we’ll see the Mi Mix 4 sooner rather than later!
