Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Gets 2023 Model Year Facelift

The refresh introduces USB-C and a new microphone.

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Gets 2023 Model Year Facelift

Razer has given its BlackShark V2 Pro headset a refresh without any update to the name itself aside from appending ‘2023’ to its name. We’re not sure if Razer will differentiate the packaging between the new one and the old one, but you can at least know the difference between the two as explained below.

First off, the new MY2023 BlackShark headset brings a new microphone that’s dubbed as “HyperClear Super Wideband Mic”. Marketing name aside, this detachable microphone is said to pick up a wider range of audio frequencies to ensure clearer communication – and it should make those with deeper voices sound less tinny as a result. As a popular choice among Esports players, the headset will come with onboard FPS audio profiles that Razer has tuned in conjunction with some of the top players in the world.

Another update is the USB-C connectivity in place of the microUSB (finally), and with it provides up to 70 hours of runtime on full charge while a 15-minute charge provides 6 hours. Other than that, the new model is identical to the older version – same 50mm TriForce Titanium drivers, 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connectivity, same construction and design, THX surround sound and more.

As for the pricing: Razer is asking for RM1,099 for the BlackShark V2 Pro 2023, which is quite the price bump from what current version is selling for right now. They’re now available on Razer stores and various retail channels.

Pokdepinion: This makes it a very compelling option but boy, that price.
