DJI has introduced the DJI Mic Mini, the latest addition to its wireless lavalier microphone lineup. Designed for portability, versatility, and discreet use, the Mic Mini offers an improved feature set and extended battery life compared to its predecessors.
DJI Mic Mini
The DJI Mic Mini set includes two lightweight and compact wireless transmitters that can be attached to clothing using either a magnetic attachment or a clip-on mechanism. This design makes it ideal for unobtrusive audio recording in professional or casual settings. Windscreens are also included for windy environments, ensuring clear audio capture.
The wireless receiver unit pairs seamlessly with various devices, including cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. It supports both USB-C and 3.5mm TRS connectors for maximum compatibility. A standout feature is its ability to charge the transmitters and the connected device simultaneously when plugged into a smartphone or other USB-C devices.
The Mic Mini transmitters can also connect to smartphones or tablets via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for the receiver. Additionally, they integrate directly with devices in the DJI Osmo Ecosystem, such as the Osmo Action 4 Pro, Osmo Action 4, and Osmo Pocket 3, offering streamlined functionality for content creators.
The Mic Mini includes a two-level noise-canceling system, catering to different recording environments:
- Basic mode for quieter indoor settings.
- Strong mode for outdoor use with more background noise.
Other key features include:
- Automatic limiting to prevent audio clipping.
- A safety track recorded 6dB quieter than the main track, serving as a backup.
- The ability to record two separate audio tracks or merge them into mono or stereo output.
The receiver supports two transmitters simultaneously and offers 5-step gain adjustment through an intuitive dial.
The included charging case powers both transmitters and the receiver 3.6 times, offering a total usage time of 48 hours. Each transmitter delivers 11.5 hours of battery life, while the receiver lasts 10.5 hours on a single charge. A 5-minute quick charge provides about one hour of usage.

Pokdepinion: This is kind of a surprise for me as I definitely wasn’t expecting it to happen. It does look promising given its price so maybe I’ll get myself a pair and see how well it works.
