ZDNet Korea reported that Intel will be releasing Arrow Lake Refresh generation of processors later this year, which means we’ll be seeing minor updates to the current Core Ultra 200S series lineup. Specifically, the refresh will involve increased clock speeds, and updated NPU to “target AI demand”.

As the publication noted, Intel has released a total of 22 models under its Arrow Lake family thus far, though 17 of which are models with limited overclocking capabilities. Per Videocardz, earlier rumors indicate that only the five K-series models (285K, 265K, 265KF, 245K, 245KF) will get direct successors in the refreshed lineup.

Unsurprisingly, the upcoming lineup will remain on the LGA1851 socket, though this is believed to be the last for this particular socket. Besides the usual clock speed bump, Arrow Lake Refresh is expected to introduce next-generation NPU (neural processing unit), dubbed NPU4, which is already present in the laptop-bound Core Ultra 200V series processors (codenamed Lunar Lake). This will make the new lineup technically eligible for Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standards.

While Arrow Lake Refresh is expected to be a ‘gap year’ for Intel’s processor roadmap, the next generation after that (Nova Lake) is expected to bring a major revamp for Team Blue’s processor lineup. Some of the rumored information include a maximum of 52 cores (16P+32E+4LPE) for the flagship, in anticipation of AMD’s next-generation “Zen 6” lineup.

Pokdepinion: Probably not much to expect this time around – here’s hoping Nova Lake will arrive soon enough.
