Intel Core i5-13600K Allegedly Comparable to AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

The 13th Gen Intel Core CPU, codenamed Raptop Lake, has entered the testing phase and as a result, some new leaks have surfaced. This time on the Intel Core i5-13600K, and it’s apparently comparable to the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X.

Details and specifications of the Intel Core i5-13600K has surfaced on the Geekbench repository shortly after CPU-Z Validator confirmed an engineering sample of the enthusiast-focused Intel Core i9-13900K. The midrange CPU was tested on an ASUS ROG Maximum Z690 Extreme with 32GB RAM, likely DDR5. It allegedly got 2,012 and 16,054 points for single core and multi-core respectively.

This puts the performance pretty much around the same level as the AMD Ryzen 9 5950, which is about 1,725 and 17,069 points. It is said to have 14 cores and 20 threads, which will likely consist of 6 Golden Cove P-Cores and 8 Gracemont E-Cores. The clock speed is set at 3.5GHz with a boost clock of 5.1GHz and 24MB L3 cache.

For now, not much details are available on this alleged Intel Core i5-13600K, as an official launch date isn’t even available yet. Rumours are pointing towards the end of 2022 but nothing has been confirmed yet. We will report more on this as soon as information becomes available.

Pokdepinion: I can’t help but feel like this is going to make my new PC build inferior the moment it gets built. Oh well, the i5-12600K is still a pretty strong contender so I won’t complain.
