Introduced in Computex 2024, Intel’s Lunar Lake processors are laptop-bound successors to Meteor Lake lineup, presumably under the Core Ultra 200V series. The chipmaker today announced the upcoming livestream ahead of IFA 2024, scheduled for September 3rd, 2024, at 18:00 CEST (Sept. 4, 2024 00:00 MYT).
Lunar Lake Readies Up
Intel’s press release states:
Ahead of the IFA 2024 conference, join Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group, and Jim Johnson, senior vice president and general manager of the Client Business Group, and Intel partners as they launch the next generation of Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, code-named Lunar Lake.
During the livestreamed event, they will reveal details on the new processors’ breakthrough x86 power efficiency, exceptional core performance, massive leaps in graphics performance and the unmatched AI computing power that will drive this and future generations of Intel products.
To recap, Lunar Lake is set to succeed current-gen Core Ultra processors codenamed Meteor Lake, and leaks suggest all models will come with 4P+4E cores regardless of product segment. All chips will come with on-package memory (with the option of 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM), meaning you won’t see upgradable RAM in laptops that comes with these chips, despite LPCAMM2’s recent introduction. The lineup will also feature significantly upgraded NPU and GPU, which we’ve detailed in the Computex coverage that you can read here.
Pokdepinion: So it turns out the launch was earlier than leaks suggested.
