ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM Get Brighter Thanks To Custom Heatsink
The OLED monitor now delivers 1000 nits peak brightness.
ASUS today announces the new ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM gaming monitor with improved display specs. The monitor features a 26.5-inch QHD (2560×1440) OLED panel with 240Hz refresh rate and virtually instant 0.03ms response time alongside NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible / AMD FreeSync Premium support.
To increase the performance and longevity of OLED panels, ASUS has installed a custom passive-cooling heatsink and voltage optimizations to minimize degradation and wear. This heatsink is said to lower the temperatures to 5% below other monitors of its class while delivering 17% more brightness than the previous ROG OLED displays. Meanwhile, the auto-brightness limiter (ABL) – an ROG-exclusive feature – helps with brightness uniformity so the brightness remain consistent even when bright window changes.
Aside from that, this monitor comes with HDR with 1000 nits (though no VESA DisplayHDR certification is mentioned here), 99% DCI-P3 and 135% sRGB coverage with Delta E of <2 (factory-calibrated), 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit color. I/O wise, it features two HDMI 2.0 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4 and two USB-A ports. The new design houses a tripod socket on top for mounting webcams or other compatible accessories.
ASUS has yet to announce pricing for the Swift OLED PG27AQDM, so keep your eyes peeled.
Pokdepinion: The new design looks so much nicer than the previous ones, though I imagine the thinner part needs to be handled with care especially when mounted on VESA arms.
