GIGABYTE today announces the new MO27Q28G gaming monitor, featuring 27-inch OLED panel with QHD resolution and 280Hz refresh rate, housed within an anti-reflection panel that achieves a claimed 99% screen-to-body ratio. The secret sauce lies in the OLED panel: it uses the new Tandem OLED technology which boosts brightness, along with improved lifespans on the panels.

According to the company, the 4th Gen LG Display WOLED panel powering this monitor integrates “Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology” which delivers up to 1,500 nits peak HDR brightness at 1.5% APL (335 nits on SDR with 100% APL), 99.5% DCI-P3 and 84% of the super-wide BT.2020 color gamut coverage; the panel also attains VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, and features Delta-E of less than 2, meaning they’re ready for color-critical work.

Another benefit of tandem OLED panel is 20% reduced power consumption compared to earlier generation OLED panels while maintaining deep black levels at up to 500 lux; this also helps extending the lifespans of the panels since the workloads will be split evenly between the two stacked panels. Besides the new panel, MO27Q28G includes several gaming-focused “Tactical Features” including quick resolution switch, Ultra Clear mode, VRR anti-flicker, and aim assist features commonly found in many gaming monitors today.
GIGABYTE also announced the monitor is now available in Malaysia with the price of RM2,999.
Pokdepinion: Hopefully we see more of these tandem OLED displays in the near future.
