MSI Announces All-New QD-OLED Monitor Lineup, Launching Early 2024

QD-OLED is making its way into monitors, and this time around MSI announcing a total of six models set to launch with the 2024 rendition of CES in January. These models consists of 34-inch curved ultrawide MAG 341CQP, the 49-inch dual-QHD MPG 491CQP, and two 4K 240Hz plus two QHD 360Hz panels. This perfectly corroborated with the leak early last month.

Regardless of if you had pay any attention to the leak, here’s a recap on these monitor’s capabilities. The MAG 341CQP features an ultrawide QHD (3440 x 1440) panel with 1800R curvature, and a refresh rate of 175Hz and near-instantaneous 0.03ms response time. Meanwhile, the 49-inch MPG 491CQP features dual-QHD (5120 x 1440) panel, with 144Hz refresh rate and the same 0.03ms response time, which should pits itself against monitors like ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD and Samsung Odyssey OLED G9.

MSI themselves has developed the new OLED Care 2.0 that ensures the lifespan of these OLED panels to avoid burn-in; aside from that, new graphene-based cooling is utilized to facilitate efficient fanless cooling. These monitors also feature HDMI 2.1 to ensure compatibility with current-gen consoles. They are expected to launch in January 6th, 2024.

Down the line you have four flat QD-OLED panels that consists of two 32-inch 4K 240Hz panels (MPG 321URX, MAG 321UPX) and two 27-inch QHD 360Hz panel (MPG 271QRX, MAG 271QPX). While not explicitly mentioned, these monitors supports “up to” 90W USB-C PD – but going by the earlier leaks, it should mean that MPG models will get 90W support while the MAG gets the 15W power through the USB-C port instead.

The company says more details will be revealed in the coming CES, set to begin on January 9th, 2024.

Pokdepinion: Pretty strong lineup – should be good competition to the current QD-OLEDs on the market.
