Chrome iOS Users Can Now Move The Address Bar To The Bottom
iOS users should be fairly familiar with the design change of Safari browser that moves the address bar downwards to improve navigation (especially if you have small hands), and now Google is doing the same for iOS version of Chrome browser, citing popular demand. It’s currently rolling out to iOS users, according to this blog.
“We know people prefer different address bar positions depending on the size of their hands and devices, and we took those preferences into account when building this highly requested feature,” the company says. To move the address bar, there’s two ways: either long-press the bar itself and select “Move address bar to bottom”, or just head to Settings and select “address bar” and pick from there.
This update is small, but should be plenty useful for those who prefers to have all the buttons within reach with a single hand. Interestingly, there’s no mentions of Android version of Chrome getting this update as of this writing (though admittedly Chrome on iOS looks very different to Android’s, likely to conform to Apple’s app design standards).
