It seems like there are no shortage of special spin-offs when it comes to ASUS’s flagship ROG Astral graphics card, going by the recent announcement discovered by Videocardz. The company will unveil this new GPU on August 19 – right before Gamescom commences – and its description (now redacted) matches that of the Astral lineup.

New ROG Astral Variant?

If you go to ASUS’s Gamescom microsite right now, you’ll only see a simple text “New ROG Graphics Card”, followed by “Reveal on Aug 19” (a similar teaser is also found in another microsite). Previous versions of the webpage found by the publication had listed several hints of this upcoming card, along with the card’s silhouette:

– Quad-fan design boosts air flow and pressure by up to 20%
– AI Performance: 1899 AI TOPS
– Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4

All details point to ROG Astral, and in this case, the AI performance indicates this is an RTX 5080-based GPU. On top of that, the page’s source code reveals the image file used for that silhouette image is named “30th-anniversary-vga.webp”, so it’s fairly confident to say this is going to be the fourth ROG Astral variant designed to commemorate ASUS’s 30 years of GPUs.

We suspect the card may feature a fair bit of chrome, if the microsite’s design is any indication; if that is the case, it wouldn’t be the first commemorative GPU unveiled in recent months featuring the same shiny finish. This GPU will also be part of the giveaway event throughout Gamescom, which also includes several Hatsune Miku Edition peripherals, along with ROG components.

Pokdepinion: Not sure if I’ve seen any AIB card that spawned this many variants before.
