After a long hiatus and payment disputes, the developer for MSI’s tuning app is back and with it comes the updated UI.

MSI Afterburner is pretty much ubiquitous among NVIDIA GeForce users who looks to eke out that last bit of performance – but the app developer had disputes with MSI with the lack of payment for months, which put the app’s future in question. Fortunately, the dispute seems to be solved and development has since gone back on track.

While Afterburner had Beta releases over the years since its last stable release (v4.6.4, released in 2019), there was no major changes to the app and was getting caught up by other vendor’s equivalent solutions. This new version of the app is setting the record straight – by adding support for the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series and AMD Radeon RX 7900 series GPUs to the official stable release.

Apart from that, the app now also supports Intel 13th Gen and AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, plus some yet-to-be-announced silicon hidden under the code. Even Intel’s Arc GPUs can now be monitored through the app a swell, though there’s no overclocking support for these models just yet.

Pokdepinion: The new UI is a huge improvement over the old one which I find a bit hard to use unless you’re already familiar with the app.
