OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro Coming to Malaysia
The OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro, which was announced during the launch of the OnePlus 11 earlier this month, is an exciting device that is sure to catch the attention of gamers and typists alike. The keyboard is the first product to come from the OnePlus Featuring programme, which involves co-development with the company’s community.
What is the OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro?
The OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro is a mechanical keyboard that was designed in collaboration with Keychron. It has a very similar layout to the Q1, but it does have a few flourishes of its own. For instance, it features a transparent control knob, red Enter and Esc keys (the latter with the company’s logo), and a thin metal stand that can even prop up the entire keyboard vertically to save desk space when not in use.
The switches of the Keyboard 81 Pro are available in either tactile (Winter Bonfire or red) or linear (Summer Breeze or blue) versions, similar to Keychron’s products. The Winter Bonfire model comes with regular PBT keycaps, while the Summer Breeze model has a “marble-mallow” material on the keycaps that is claimed to be “bouncy” yet durable. The body is made from CNC machined aluminium.
Other features of the Keyboard 81 Pro include a double-gasket design to reduce unwanted noise, hot-swappable switches, RGB illumination, and a 75% keyboard layout. It has Bluetooth 5.1 and a 4,000mAh battery that provides up to 100 hours of use. It charges in around five hours through a USB-C port.
When can you buy the OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro in Malaysia?
If you’re in Malaysia, you’ll be pleased to know that the OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro will be available for purchase sometime in Q2 2023, with pre-orders starting in May 2023. A spokesperson for OnePlus confirmed this, and the device is already visible on the company’s Malaysian website. However, it appears that only the Winter Bonfire model with tactile switches and PBT keycaps will be offered for sale in Malaysia.
Pokdepinion: It’s a nice looking keyboard for sure and the features will certainly attract a good number of people out there, especially those who want a mechanical keyboard but don’t know where to start. I just hope the Bluetooth latency isn’t too bad.
