MSI Unveils AMD B650 Series Motherboard Lineup

MSI today showcased its new lineup of AMD B650 series motherboards with new and updated technologies.

MSI AMD B650

To fully support AMD Ryzen 7000’s new boosting behavior, MSI has inherited the extended heatsinks with additional thermal pads on VRM chokes for greater thermal stability. Same goes to the M.2 slot – the double-sided thermal pad keeps the SSD temperatures at bay while under intensive read and write loads. On the power side of things, MSI’s B650 series boards will support up to 16+2+1 Duet Rail Power System and dual EPS 8-pin connectors for CPU power delivery. The maximum supported memory is up to 6600MT/s, with both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP (as A-XMP) profiles supported on the platform.

Connectivity-wise, all boards come with 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 6E and USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps) Type-C connector ready to go. ARGB Gen2 devices are supported; BIOS flashing feature are available through a button placed on the rear I/O for easier upgrade process down the line.

Pokdepinion: Looks like MSI has featured Wi-Fi on all B650 boards so far – looks like a LAN-only board could be reserved to just entry level motherboards moving forward?
