Kingston Breaks 100 Million Mark For Overclockable RAM Shipped
The milestone was reached in the span of over 20 years, since 2002.
Kingston today announced it has shipped over 100 million overclockable RAM modules since its entrance to the enthusiast RAM market in 2002, or about 21 years ago. Originally, the high performance modules bear the HyperX branding, and has since been the better known brands among the RAM market until it gets spun off to HP in 2021. Despite the sale of HyperX, the memory business remained under Kingston with the new name: Kingston FURY.
In 2005, Kingston was granted a US patent on a proprietary dynamic burn-in tester – a first of its kind. This enables the company to rigorously test its server-grade memory modules for speed and reliability, and this year, the brand has released a new line of overclockable datacenter RAM in the form of Kingston FURY Renegade Pro DDR5 RDIMM. The consumer lines continues to be served with the mainstream Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 and Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5, both of which now come with white colorways as well.
“Kingston is committed to designing and manufacturing products that offer consumers unparalleled style and performance,” said Kingston. “This milestone demonstrates Kingston’s market leadership, supporting users in every segment of our industry by providing world renowned customer service and the highest quality products, with reliability to match. It takes an entire team to achieve this feat and we thank and share this accomplishment with our partners, vendors, and customers.”
Pokdepinion: Big achievement. Although that overclockable RDIMM is something I haven’t seen before (looks like overclocked RDIMMs are very new?)
