ASUS has announced the TUF Gaming A2 SSD enclosure, featuring USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps) Type-C connection that doubles the bandwidth of its predecessor, the TUF Gaming A1. As usual, you get IP68 ingress protection and compliance to the U.S. MIL-STD-810H standard.

The enclosure supports both PCIe NVMe and SATA interfaces and accommodating M.2 SSDs in 2242, 2260, and 2280 form factors, supporting drives up to 4TB in capacity; a Q-Latch is pre-installed for tool-less installation as well. For containing the heat, it features an aluminum chassis internally (covered in silicone-rubber exterior for shock protection) and a thermal pad with a K-value of 3 – in other words, 3 watts per meter-kelvin (W/mK).
The rugged exterior is designed to protect against several nasty things Mother Nature could throw at it: UV exposure, rain, dust ingress, gravity (specifically, 1.22 meters), static electricity or other “electrical disturbances”. The device is compatible with most systems including Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and gaming consoles like the ROG Ally, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
ASUS TUF Gaming A2 will be available in Malaysia from mid-December 2024.
Pokdepinion: A nice speed boost from the predecessor.
