Kingston Named Biggest Third-Party SSD Supplier in 2021

TrendForce has named Kingston as the biggest 3rd-party SSD supplier as of 2021, accounting for 26% or the 127 million units shipped in that year.

Despite component supply issues on 2021 due to pandemic, the shipments through global distribution channels remained in growth with the annual growth rate at 11%. The second-biggest supplier, ADATA, contributed to 8% of total shipments in that same year – significantly lesser than Kingston’s 26%, of which the company has credited its flexible supply strategy and global sourcing plans.

As PCIe 4.0 SSDs continues the transition from older systems which runs on SATA protocol, the company’s KC3000 and FURY Renegade SSDs are introduced in 2021 as the key products among their portfolio of client SSDs. TrendForce has noted that ‘comprehensive global production and sales services’ will be important for increasing PCIe SSD shipments in the future.

“It’s an honor to achieve this top ranking as Kingston celebrates its 35-year anniversary”, said the company. “From the beginning, Kingston’s focus and core sales strength has been with our customers and channel partners worldwide as we embody the ‘Kingston Is With You’ working attitude. Together, these successful relationships have helped our SSD business grow rapidly and the same approach in the DRAM division has led the company to be the largest third-party memory module supplier for the 19th consecutive year.”

Pokdepinion: With new models coming in line such as NV2, they are not losing that first place anytime soon for sure.
