The Malaysian government has revealed recently of their eBelia programme initiative where eligible citizens could claim RM150 ewallet credits. Shopee has today revealed that they’ve recorded roughly 500,000 claimants for the cashless credit on day one.

On top of the RM150 ewallet credit they receive, users also get an additional RM500 worth of vouchers, bringing the total up to RM650.

The extra RM500 worth of vouchers offer youths greater savings on items like learning tools for their studies, household supplies, or even groceries for them and the family.

ShopeePay Deals Near Me is the platform’s most recent online-to-offline feature that uses location-based services to help users discover ShopeePay Vouchers by nearby merchants.

Within a month of its launch, the number of merchants that subscribed to the feature grew to 1,000. Getting back with the ShopeePay eBelia topic, the first 20,000 claimants was able to receive a supplementary RM5 cashback with a RM10 minimum spend when they scan any other eWallet or Bank’s DuitNow QR codes to pay.

The eBelia programme is open for registration for Malaysian citizens aged 18 to 20 years old in 2021 or full-time students enrolled in courses equivalent to diploma or Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 4 and above at local public and private registered institutions of higher learning.
