U.S. technology company Zebra Technologies has announced that logistics company Ninja Van has modernized its fulfillment operations using its warehousing solutions. Responsible for 25 million recipients in Malaysia, Ninja Van implemented the changes to address growing operational complexity in keeping the parcels delivered on-time.
Ninja Van Gets New Hardware Upgrades
The deployment centers on three components: the cloud-native AC2 WAVE Warehouse Management System (WMS), developed by Zebra PartnerConnect independent software vendor AC2 WAVE; Zebra’s TC2 series mobile computers for warehouse floor use; and ZD200 series desktop printers for label generation at packing stations.
Warehouse workers use TC2 mobile computers to receive real-time guidance on inventory locations and to process picks directly within the WMS. After picking, items are labelled at packing stations using ZD200 printers, which support both thermal transfer and direct thermal printing to accommodate different operational requirements. The integrated workflow connects the fulfillment process from picking through to final dispatch.
The system has enabled operators to handle 30 to 60 scans per minute, effectively doubling previous scanning speeds across thousands of daily orders. The reliability of the ZD200 printers in producing legible labels throughout the delivery journey has contributed to a “virtual elimination” of customer complaints regarding missed or delayed deliveries, Zebra Technologies said.
