Setel, as one of the e-wallet providers in Malaysia, has been appointed by Ministry of Finance (MOF) for the eBeliaRahmah program. The program aims to ease the financial burden of youths and promote cashless payments. Under the eBeliaRahmah program, Malaysian youths aged 18 to 20, or full-time Malaysian students enrolled at Malaysia’s higher education institutes (IPT) are eligible to claim the RM200 one-off credit through the app from 26th June to 31st August 2023.

Mazlin Erawati Ab Manan, CEO of Setel, said: “Setel is honoured to support eBeliaRahmah programme, which is aligned with our purpose to foster a cashless society and promote safer and efficient financial transactions. Boasting an acceptance at more than 1.6 million retail stores nationwide and at Malaysia’s largest fuel retail network of over 1,000 PETRONAS stations nationwide, eligible claimants who apply for eBeliaRahmah through the Setel app can shop at retail stores displaying Setel and DuitNow QR code, and at any PETRONAS station.”

“Setel hopes to support the youths’ financial well-being through our additional incentives and in turn contribute to drive economic growth for local businesses and support their transition towards cashless payments seamlessly,” he continued.

For those eligible, here’s how to claim the credit: you’ll need to complete the account verification through e-KYC (make sure to update the app if you haven’t yet), and once the application is successful, the credit will be automatically transferred to the account, available for use in any eligible stores, DuitNow QR codes or any of the PETRONAS stations nationwide. However, you must spend this credit before it expires at 31st August 2023. More details can be read on the MOF website here.

Pokdepinion: Make sure to set the reminder if you can’t claim the credit right now, but best do it now if you can!
