The MOU was signed during an industry event hosted by Provident in collaboration with Masryef Academy, titled “Cost of Living, Digital Debt & Financial Stress: The Role of Islamic Financing in Building Financial Stability.” The event brought together leaders from Malaysia’s financial services sector to discuss borrowing behaviours, responsible financing practices, and digital financial innovation.

Under the agreement, microLEAP and Provident will explore collaboration in areas including financial education, knowledge-sharing, and responsible financing initiatives, along with ways to improve access to alternative financing for Malaysian SMEs. The partnership will also explore opportunities across both Shariah-compliant and conventional P2P financing structures.

microLEAP stated that alternative financing platforms are playing an increasing role in broadening access to capital for Malaysian businesses navigating funding challenges beyond traditional financing channels. Through the collaboration, both organisations aim to explore initiatives supporting informed financial decision-making and improved access to responsible financing options.

Tunku Danny Nasaifuddin Mudzaffar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of microLEAP, said access to transparent and ethical financing remains a priority for Malaysian businesses navigating current economic conditions, adding that the partnership with Provident aims to strengthen financial inclusion while supporting responsible financing practices for long-term business sustainability.

Pokdepinion: This should mean good news for SMEs, as they can get easier access to financing.
