RHB Bank Berhad has introduced the RHB Sinar Credit Card-i, a credit card designed as a simple, affordable credit option as part of RHB’s broader range of credit card offerings. The name “Sinar”, meaning “ray” or “light” in Malay, was specifically chosen by the bank to reflect its “aspiration to help customers navigate their financial journey with greater confidence and clarity.”

RHB Sinar Credit Card-i Coming This October

The RHB Sinar Credit Card-i carries a retail transaction profit rate of 14% per annum, compared to an industry norm that can reach 18% per annum. The card comes with no annual fee and no compounding finance charges, and is structured around essential credit card features without the added cost of lifestyle benefits.

Dato’ Mohd Rashid Mohamad, Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of RHB Banking Group, said customers have different financial needs, and that not all customers are looking for rewards or lifestyle privileges. “For many, what matters most is having a simple and affordable credit card that helps them manage their everyday expenses with confidence,” he noted.

The RHB Sinar Credit Card-i joins RHB’s existing range of conventional and Islamic credit cards, giving customers a choice based on their financial priorities and spending habits. The company noted that existing RHB credit cardholders are not affected and may continue using their current cards as usual.

Further details on eligibility and availability will be announced closer to the card’s official launch in October 2026.
