With the Malaysian government’s call for greater collaboration amongst industry players to deliver better internet connectivity nationwide, the partnership between the two companies allows the delivery of High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) Network Services to more areas in Peninsular Malaysia.
By utilizing Allo’s HSBB network, the telco company looks to expand their Home Fibre coverage to more households in the country, where it it is said that they will be able to expand to additional 80,000 homes in selected areas within Melaka, Perak, and Cyberjaya. They then look to expand the infrastructure to 150,000 homes in other states such as Selangor, Kedah, Johor, Penang, and Negeri Sembilan.
Other than that, the company hopes to leverage Allo’s fibre infrastructure to expand other segments of their connectivity services that includes commercial offerings to Enterprises. As part of a pilot program, both companies will be providing free connectivity to selected homes in Melaka. The selected families from a few town in Melaka, including Felda Kemendor in Jasin will be able to enjoy the service for free for six months, to facilitate the households who are working or studying from home.
