According to the report, U Mobile recorded improved Reliability and Consistent Quality scores following the launch of its ULTRA5G services. U Mobile also secured both overall speed awards in this edition, attributed to improved 5G Availability score, after placing second for Download Speed and third for Upload Speed in the November 2025 report.

CelcomDigi remained the sole winner of the Coverage award in the latest report. In the previous edition, CelcomDigi’s 4G network covered approximately 97% of populated areas nationwide, positioning it as a leading operator in this category. Meanwhile, Unifi led for overall experiential metrics in the July 2026 report; the TM-owned operator previously recorded the fastest average download speeds in Malaysia, measuring 13% faster than U Mobile, and was the only operator placed in the Good category for Voice App Experience at that time.

U Mobile collected the highest number of regional awards among the five operators in the latest report. This follows the operator’s newly-established 5G Standalone (5G-SA) network, which launched in August 2025 under the ULTRA5G brand, with a stated target of 80% population coverage by the second half of 2026.

The Malaysian government approved U Mobile to build a second national 5G network, complementing the existing national wholesale provider, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). DNB, in partnership with Ericsson, has also introduced 5G-Advanced capability, with Yes becoming the first mobile network operator in Malaysia to launch the service commercially.
