Yes 5G Powers Clarion Malaysia’s 5G-Enabled Manufacturing Line
Clarion Malaysia, a leading automotive supplier specializing in in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) equipment, has successfully trialed Malaysia’s first 5G-enabled advanced manufacturing line powered by YTL Communications’ Yes 5G Private Network and Cnergenz’s smart manufacturing solutions.
The event was attended by notable figures including Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, YB Tuan Gobind Singh, Deputy Secretary General Tuan Ma Sivanesan, and Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid, Chief Strategy Officer of Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). They visited Clarion Malaysia’s smart manufacturing plant, which is pioneering the use of private 5G and IR4.0 technologies in the country.
“5G is not just for consumers, it will play a significant role in driving productivity and competitiveness for Malaysia. Having world-class public and private 5G networks will help drive significant economic uplift to the country and position Malaysia as an attractive hub for FDI,” the minister stated.
The smart facility uses Yes’ high-capacity, ultra-low latency Private 5G connectivity to support critical operations and security needs; meanwhile, Cnergenz is responsible for providing smart manufacturing solutions, such as cloud-based inventory systems and AI-powered Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for the facility’s production line.
YTL Communications CEO Wing K. Lee said: “The Yes 5G Private Network, based on the latest 5G SA (Standalone) Network standard, is designed to meet the mission-critical requirements for enterprise customers with world-class end-to-end security and resiliency. This has provided Clarion Malaysia unparallel flexibility to enable instrumentation and automation anywhere inside the factory in a secured manner.”
Developed with Intel and QCT, the Yes 5G Private Network adheres to 3GPP’s 5G SA and Network Security Assurance Scheme (NESAS) standards, combined with the deployment of Intel’s Xeon Scalable processors to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity with robust security suitable for mission-critical environments.
Pokdepinion: We can hopefully expect more manufacturing lines to get the 5G upgrade.
