Facebook Suggests You To Read Articles Before Sharing Them
It seems that Facebook is trying to combat the spread of misinformation by testing out a new feature to make users read out articles that they plan on sharing beforehand.
Facebook wants you to read articles before sharing
Starting today, we’re testing a way to promote more informed sharing of news articles. If you go to share a news article link you haven’t opened, we’ll show a prompt encouraging you to open it and read it, before sharing it with others. pic.twitter.com/brlMnlg6Qg

It’s easy for people to share articles simply because of their headlines or titles and sometimes it might get the people that read the shared content upset due to the difference in content inside versus the title.
The company has said that they will be testing it on 6% of their global users on Android. Users will be prompted to read an article before they share it.
Despite the notification to read the article that you are about to share, it appears that you can still share the content with reading it nonetheless. Facebook simply hopes that with the feature, it will get users to read them first and prevent from spreading misinformation.
