Send And Receive Money Through WhatsApp Payments
It seems that WhatsApp has introduced Payments to their platform, where you are allowed to send and receive money through the app.
WhatsApp Payments
It was announced at their blogpost of the new payment service and it seems that there’s no commission free involved, meaning that it’s a free service for users.
Despite that, it appears that businesses have to pay a 3.99% processing fee to receive payments. The process of transaction requires a six-digit PIN or authentication through fingerprint.
With the feature, you can utilize it by linking your WhatsApp number to your VISA or Mastercard credit or debit card. Unfortunately, the feature is only introduced and available at Brazil at the moment.
Having over 2 billion users in the world, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them introduce the new feature to more countries soon and their statement confirms it:
Payments on WhatsApp are beginning to roll out to people across Brazil beginning today and we look forward to bringing it to everyone as we go forward.
We’ll sure to update you once it does indeed comes out for Malaysia. Till then, stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: Having so many users, it’s definitely a convenient way of making transactions. Hopefully we’ll see it soon here.
