HarmonyOS 3.0 Launching in September 2022, Beta in May
It appears that the highly anticipated update for HUAWEI’s homegrown mobile OS, HarmonyOS 3.0, is coming this September 2022, with beta version coming in May. Here’s what we know thus far.
HarmonyOS 3.0 Launching in September 2022
It feels like it’s been a while since HarmonyOS was built as a result of the US sanctions limiting the use of Google’s ecosystem on HUAWEI devices. Now, HarmonyOS 3.0 is expected to be launched sometime in September 2022, with the beta coming in May 2022.
For those of you who aren’t aware, HarmonyOS 3.0 was first unveiled in October 2021 with a Developer Preview being released shortly after. We can expect to see a number of improvements, including a changed UI with better performance, though the general look and feel should still be about the same.
The first devices to make use of HarmonyOS 3.0 is expected to be the upcoming HUAWEI Mate 50 series, which is expected to launch in July this year. It will also make its way to other devices but we shall know more about it when the beta starts rolling out to those who signed up for it.
Pokdepinion: Time flies rather fast and it’s also the 3rd iteration of the new mobile OS. I’m quite excited to see what they have cooked up this time.
