Twitter Demanded To Investigate Following Chinese Ambassador’s Account Liking Porn Tweet
Twitter could be on hot waters in the UK as China’s embassy in the country has called them to investigate the platform due to their ambassador seemingly liked an adult-rated tweet just recently.
Twitter to investigate following Chinese embassy controversy?
The account involved is Ambassador Liu Xiaoming, where it is reported that his account has liked several tweets from adult Twitter accounts.
Adding to the issue, it appears that his account has also liked several posts that criticize the Chinese Communist Party. The China UK embassy has said that the act (tweet liking) was made by a ‘possible hacker’, who had gained access to the ambassador’s account.
Following the incident, the Chinese Embassy in UK has released a statement at their Twitter account where they’ve said “Recently, some anti-China elements viciously attacked Ambassador Liu Xiaoming’s Twitter account and employed despicable methods to deceive the public. The Embassy has reported to this to Twitter company and urged the latter to make thorough investigations and handle this matter seriously. The Embassy reserves the right to take further actions and hope that the public will not believe or spread such rumour”.
At the time of writing, Twitter has refused to give any comments on the matter. As you might know, Twitter is not available in China.
Pokdepinion: I don’t think he would intentionally like those contents using his very public account.. that would definitely send out the wrong message to the public. I wonder how will Twitter take action to this.
