Intel is going for the extra step in convincing gamers to buy Intel-powered PCs – the chipmaker has collaborated with PC builders in China to sell pre-overclocked PCs, with additional 10% performance on top of stock components while providing full warranty coverage, according to Uniko’s Hardware.

Intel Performance Optimization PCs

Officially, the chipmaker refers them as “Intel Performance Optimization” PCs, and they feature overclocks in several aspects of the CPU and RAM to provide the claimed 10% improvement in performance, as seen in this case from a PC built by Ipason. These tunings involve increasing the clock speeds of the Core i7-14700KF (from 5.2/4.6GHz to 5.4/4.9GHz), power limits (125/250W to 280/350W) and RAM clocks (DDR5-8000 to DDR5-8400).

While overclocking is usually treated by companies as something that voids the warranty (technically, simply activating XMP/EXPO profiles fits that criteria), Intel working with local PC builders to provide warranty coverage is certainly a big plus for those willing to pay extra to get a PC with performance fully extracted out of the box.

That is certainly one way of saving the dwindling popularity of Team Blue’s new processors, as its rival AMD has seen massive success in the desktop segment with its Ryzen 9000X3D processors with decisive lead in performance over Arrow Lake’s best. Still, this is currently a program exclusive in China for now, and there’s no word if the chipmaker will eventually expand to global market to help boost its chip sales.
