Meet Nothing Ear (3), the latest addition to the London-based brand’s TWS (true wireless stereo) lineup – as expected with the quirkiness from Nothing, Ear (3) features a new design that incorporates metal components alongside the transparent aesthetic, along with some unique features.
Nothing Ear (3)

Starting off, the Ear (3) have what’s called a “Super Mic” system integrated into the charging case, which is certainly one way of getting around the subpar mic quality that most TWS earbuds suffer from. It uses dual microphones and noise cancellation to reduce surrounding noise levels of up to 95dB, and users can activate it by pressing the TALK button on the case (it can be used to create transcribed voice notes in Essential Space when paired with Nothing smartphones).
Besides the Super Mic, each earbud includes three directional microphones and a bone-conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU). According to Nothing, VPU detects micro-vibrations from the jaw and ear canal, which is then converted into electrical signals for “precise voice pickup.” Add the AI-enhanced noise cancellation system and you get up 25dB of wind noise reduction in calls, while the adaptive ANC suppresses external noises by up to 45dB.

Audio is powered by a 12mm dynamic driver with a patterned diaphragm that expands the radiating area by 20% compared to the previous model, increasing bass response by 4-6dB and treble by 4dB. Nothing claims this results in a wider soundstage with cleaner highs and rich mids. Battery endurance are claimed to be up to 10 hours (+90 minutes over predecessor) on the earbuds, while the case provides another 28 hours; wireless charging is supported as well.
In terms of connectivity and radio performance, the case now integrates a custom Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) antenna that improves radiated power and signal sensitivity by 15% and 20% respectively over the original Nothing Ear earbuds, and the new model supports Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC and a low-latency mode under 120 milliseconds. The earbuds are rated IP54 for ingress protection.
The Nothing Ear (3) will be available in black and white at RM759, with open sales beginning on 6 October 2025 through official website and selected partners.
Pokdepinion: A lot of tech going on, although putting mics on the case is certainly an interesting design choice (which may look weird for some, but hey, if it works).
