AMD has announced two new lineups of processors for industrial and commercial settings, including the EPYC Embedded 4005 processor family, along with Ryzen PRO 9000 series (plus a new Ryzen PRO 7000 series model).
EPYC Embedded 4005

The new Zen 5-based EPYC Embedded 4005 series extends AMD’s x86 embedded portfolio with a new mid-range solution primarily designed for networking, security appliances, and industrial entry-level servers. Like its non-embedded EPYC 4005 and consumer desktop Ryzen 9000 series, this lineup offers up to 16 cores, with up to 128MB of L3 cache for data-intensive workloads, along with configurable TDP of 65-170W for different environments and applications.
One upside of this lineup is the tried-and-true Socket AM5 support, meaning costs should be comparatively low as industrial-grade AM5 motherboards are fairly common; AMD has also committed to seven years of manufacturing and software support with embedded reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features for mission-critical uptime. Here are the models launched:
Processor | Cores / Threads | Boost / Base Clocks | TDP |
---|---|---|---|
EPYC Embedded 4585PX | 16C / 32T (with 3D V-Cache) | 5.7 GHz / 4.3 GHz | 170W |
EPYC Embedded 4565P | 16C / 32T | 5.7 GHz / 4.3 GHz | 170W |
EPYC Embedded 4545P | 16C / 32T | 5.4 GHz / 3.0 GHz | 65W |
EPYC Embedded 4465P | 12C / 24T | 5.4 GHz / 3.4 GHz | 65W |
EPYC Embedded 4345P | 8C / 16T | 5.5 GHz / 3.8 GHz | 65W |
EPYC Embedded 4245P | 6C / 12T | 5.4 GHz / 3.9 GHz | 65W |
AMD Ryzen PRO

In parallel, AMD has expanded its commercial desktop portfolio with the introduction of new Ryzen PRO 9000 processors, including the Zen 5-based Ryzen PRO 9000 Series, which includes the 12-core Ryzen 9 PRO 9945, 8-core Ryzen 7 PRO 9745, and the 6-core Ryzen 5 PRO 9645; AMD also introduced the Ryzen 5 PRO 7745 6-core processor as the latest model for its Zen 4-based commercial lineup. Here are the specs:
Processor | Cores / Threads | Boost / Base Clocks | Total Cache | TDP |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 | 12C / 24T | 5.4 GHz / 3.4 GHz | 76MB | 65W |
Ryzen 7 PRO 9745 | 8C / 16T | 5.4 GHz / 3.8 GHz | 40MB | 65W |
Ryzen 5 PRO 9645 | 6C / 12T | 5.4 GHz / 3.9 GHz | 38MB | 65W |
Ryzen 5 PRO 7745 | 6C / 12T | 4.3 GHz / 3.3 GHz | 22MB | 65W |
Pokdepinion: With 3D V-Cache’s presence, safe to say Intel couldn’t compete with it today.
