FUJIFILM Business Innovation Malaysia is marking 60 years of operations in Malaysia, celebrating six decades of supporting local organizations through improving productivity and adopting digital transformation. The company, part of the Fujifilm Group, first established its presence in 1966 and has since grown into a key player in Malaysia’s digital landscape, employing approximately 450 people nationwide as of June 2026.
Originally known as Rank Xerox when it entered Malaysia, the company underwent a significant name change in 2021 to become FUJIFILM Business Innovation. Its very first office in Malaysia was inaugurated by the country’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, setting an early marker for the company’s long-standing relationship with Malaysian institutions.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation Malaysia Celebrates A Major Milestone
The company’s history in Malaysia mirrors the country’s own economic evolution. In its early years, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Malaysia pioneered office equipment adoption through roadshows and a notable “Don’t Buy-Rent” concept that gained traction with government agencies and major corporations including Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
In the 1980s, the company introduced Malaysia’s first laser printer, the Xerox 4045, which set new benchmarks for office printing speed and quality. Over the following decades, the company transitioned from a document solutions provider into a full digital transformation partner, now offering end-to-end services across managed print services, workflow automation, document management, IT services, cloud solutions, business process outsourcing, and production print technologies.

Looking ahead, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Malaysia has outlined a set of strategic priorities for the next five years. The company plans to expand its digital transformation portfolio, with a particular focus on workflow automation, large language model (LLM)-based optical character recognition (OCR), document management, IT services, cybersecurity, and managed services.
The company also intends to increase investments in AI-enabled solutions and intelligent automation to help organisations streamline operations and improve decision-making. These plans are complemented by a push toward sustainable business practices, including resource-efficient technologies, circular economy initiatives, and environmentally responsible products.
Malaysia is identified as a strategically important market within FUJIFILM Business Innovation’s Asia-Pacific network, serving as both a growth market and a regional hub for advancing digital transformation initiatives across Southeast Asia. Key industries served include manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, education, retail, and the public sector.
