SK intellix Malaysia has launched an all-new brand called NAMUHˣ, positioned into the wellness robotics market; the new model – designated A1 – is designed as an AI-powered wellness product for homes and workspaces, capable of monitoring selected wellness indicators while moving independently around a space to detect and respond to changing indoor conditions.
Meet NAMUHˣ A1 Wellness Robot
Unlike all the air purifiers that came before it, NAMUHˣ is designed to cover an area of up to 2,000 square feet by moving independently through a space on its own. This allows the device to deliver targeted purification in areas where pollutants are detected (via dedicated air sensor units), rather than purifying a fixed location. It’s got an onboard camera which utilizes remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) to provide core health indicators with 90% accuracy via a 10-second scan on a user’s face.
Besides its robotics, purification and wellness capabilities, it packs a Qualcomm-powered Large Language Model (LLM) that allows users to engage in natural conversations (including asking trivial information beyond controlling the robot itself). The robot also connects to a companion mobile app where users can use its onboard cameras to act as a moving CCTV of sorts. Any user physically close to the robot can also invoke the “Follow Me” function to let the robot follow them as well.
The Malaysian launch marks a further step in SK intellix’s ongoing efforts to expand smart wellness technology offerings in the country. NAMUHˣ was originally introduced in South Korea, and the recent launch marks the first-ever overseas debut for the brand, the parent company of which is already involved in water and air purifier products (previously as SK Magic). Fun fact: “NAMUH” is “HUMAN” with letter order flipped.
