Razer has announced the Razer Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics Edition, a wired gaming headset that adds physical tactile feedback courtesy of Razer Sensa HD Haptics technology. The headset is compatible with more than 100 supported PC games and translates in-game events and audio into layered physical sensations players can feel through the headset itself.

Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics system goes beyond basic rumble by responding to the intensity, duration, and position of in-game events – a distant explosion produces a different sensation from a point-blank shot, and individual sounds such as approaching footsteps carry their own distinct feedback profile.
Two modes govern how haptics are delivered: Dynamic Haptics applies to titles built with Sensa HD Haptics support, where game developers have authored effects tied directly to specific in-game events such as weapon fire, ability activations, and movement cues. Audio-to-Haptics (A2H) layers on top of that, drawing on Razer-tuned profiles for each supported title to fill in feedback when gameplay goes beyond the authored event set.

As for headset itself, it uses Razer TriForce 40mm Drivers, a proprietary three-part driver design that independently tunes the high, mid, and low frequency ranges for more detailed audio reproduction. It also supports 7.1 Surround Sound for positional audio, while Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic takes care of comms. For comfort, FlowKnit Memory Foam Cushions use a breathable fabric construction combined with plush cushioning suited to extended play sessions; and of course, you get Razer Chroma RGB for onboard lighting.
The Razer Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics Edition is priced at RM469 in Malaysia. It is available now at Razer.com and RazerStores, with local retailers to follow.
