HoYoverse announced Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.6, titled “Dance With the Beast Before Moonrise,” will launch on 28 September. The update follows the previous story arc, in which Nihilux revealed her identity as Aha, the Aeon of Elation. In this version, the Trailblazer, Nihilux and Pearl travel to the Life Sciences Institute within Astropolis to investigate a plan to “weaponize the husk.”
Continuing the plot – the Life Sciences Institute was established under Madam Yabuli, head of the IPC’s Technology Department, and serves as the source of all imagenae in Astropolis. Yabuli is said to be pursuing the weaponization plan despite risks to Planarcadia, and is suspected of links to a faction that worships the Voracity. Pearl uses the recovery of Leviathan Essence as cover to send Kuchiba and Ashveil to investigate the institute alongside the Trailblazer and Nihilux.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.6 Update Highlights
Pearl, a 5-star Ice character following the Path of Elation, becomes playable in this version. She is described in the story as Planarcadia’s CEO, known for her computational ability and rational decision-making, who stayed behind during a Voracity threat to oversee an “encanvasing ritual” while other residents evacuated.
In combat, Pearl can consume a resource called “Certified Banger” to reduce damage taken by all allies. She can also enter a “Deep Learning” state to copy a teammate’s combat data and gain Enhanced ATK; if that teammate follows the Elation Path, the Enhanced ATK deals additional Elation damage. If the full team consists of Elation characters, the copied teammate gains an extra turn along with additional Punchline and Certified Banger.
Drop rates for Pearl and the 5-star Light Cone “Colors for Tomorrow” will be increased during the version. The 5-star character Evanescia will rerun in the first half of the version, followed by a rerun for Mortenax Blade in the second half.
New content includes the “Love, Ghosts & Robots” event, in which the Trailblazer helps a resurrected character named Skott run a mechatron workshop, and the “Interastral Peace Gala: One Take” combat reality show event. A new “Astral Imagea” system will also launch, letting players collect companion Imageas and take on a co-op challenge called “Astral Slammers Squad!” New outfits for Hyacine (“Warm Cotton Skies”) and Evanescia (“Lunar Blossoming”) will also be added.
Upcoming Razer Collaboration Announced
HoYoverse also announced a collaboration with Razer, featuring a Silver Wolf-themed gaming chair, keyboard, mouse and headset, set for simultaneous release across multiple regions – expect further details in due time. Separately, HoYoverse confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero characters Ellen and Astra Yao will appear in Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.8 as part of a crossover between the two HoYoverse titles.
