Hands full while refueling? Setel has a new idea called “Voice Fuelling“, being an AI-powered feature that lets users activate their fuel pump by simply stating their pump number, with support for English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil langauges.
How Voice Fuelling Works
Setel positions the feature for a broad group of users, including motorists, motorcyclists, fleet operators and e-hailing drivers, as well as people who are new to apps or prefer speaking over tapping. Once Voice Fuelling is enabled in the app, users simply say their pump number aloud – the AI then processes the transaction using the user’s preferred payment method and saved fuelling preferences, removing the need to tap through the app manually.
To help customers get started, PETRONAS dealers and ground crew will support on-ground activations, introducing the feature and assisting with setup; if you’re new to this app, Setel is also offering 5x Mesra Rewards points, capped at 500 points, for those who download the app, register, verify their account and fuel a minimum of 1 liter, applicable to RON95, RON97 and Diesel, including BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel.
Existing users can earn additional savings and bonus points through Setel Savers, while the Refer a Friend program offers Setel Credit and a chance to win prizes. From October to the end of the year, the Full Thank campaign will continue as an extension of Setel’s ongoing campaign, alongside other promotions and rewards.
Voice Fuelling is available from Setel app version 1.210.0 onwards, though Setel encourages users to update to version 1.211.0, available from 9 October 2026, to access the latest experience enhancements.
