The Samsung Health app has received a new update that lowers the entry barrier for Sleep Coaching, with users now able to begin the program after just three days of tracked data within the past two weeks. The update also introduces more personalized weekly guidance and expands the Running Coach program, with a rollout beginning in October via app updates.
New Sleep Coaching Update

When setting up Sleep Coaching, users complete a survey covering sleep regularity, interruptions, alcohol and caffeine intake, and subjective sleep satisfaction. Combined with the three days of sleep data (down from the previous requirement of seven days in a month), the app assigns a personalized Sleep Animal symbol and builds a tailored four- to eight-week coaching program based on individual goals.
The program dynamically adapts its weekly recommendations as it tracks daily sleep satisfaction and lifestyle changes over time. Informed by principles of behavioral sleep science, it provides users with daily habit checklists and sleep tips, such as avoiding screens an hour before bed, skipping late caffeine, and stretching outdoors after waking up.
A new pentagon-shaped Sleep Balance graph has also been introduced, consolidating five key sleep indicators: sleep time, sleep regularity, awake time during the night, sleep satisfaction, and Energy Score. The graph provides an at-a-glance view of sleep trends and areas that may need attention, based on data collected or entered through Sleep Coaching.
Morning daily insight messages, which review the previous night’s sleep with actionable tips, are now more closely integrated with weekly and final reports to provide a fuller picture of sleep trends over time.
Running Coach Expanded With Strava Routes Integration

Meanwhile, the Running Coach feature in Samsung Health has also been upgraded: training tiers have expanded from 10 to 12 levels, with the new additions designed for intermediate and advanced runners who want to set higher benchmarks and improve their performance progressively.
Users still receive a personalized training plan based on a 12-minute running test or their historical running data. The update also introduces an enhanced social media sharing feature, letting runners export workout data into share-ready templates for various platforms to highlight milestones, personal records, and route highlights.
Samsung has also partnered with Strava to allow users to import their favourite Strava Routes for running, trail running, and cycling directly into Samsung Health, improving convenience for those who use both platforms.
