Dyson launched the Supersonic Travel hair dryer in Malaysia, positioned as a compact travel-oriented variant of its Supersonic lineup. The new model is 32% smaller and 25% lighter than the full-sized Supersonic hair dryer, or in other words, weighing less than a 500ml bottle of water.

Per Dyson, the Supersonic Travel uses the same intelligent heat control technology found in the full-sized Supersonic, measuring airflow temperature 100 times per second to prevent extreme heat exposure. By this, the company says excessive heat can degrade keratin (the protein that makes up your hair) and weaken the hair shaft over time, causing dryness and irritation; as such, the temperature control system is designed to reduce this risk while maintaining drying speed and evenness.

The Supersonic Travel is compatible with attachments from the existing Dyson Supersonic and Supersonic Nural hair dryers, so users who already owns other Supersonic hair dryers can just bring the attachments along while travelling. Naturally, it is carry-on compatible, and works with different voltages (i.e. 110V for North America) with no deviations in performance.

Dyson’s hair dryer range currently includes the original Supersonic (launched in 2016), the Supersonic Nural (which adds a Scalp Protect Mode adjusting air temperature for scalp health), and now the Supersonic Travel for portable use. The Dyson Supersonic Travel hair dryer is available in Malaysia now at a retail price of RM1,399.

Pokdepinion: Having attachment compatibility with existing Supersonic models is certainly a plus.
