Samsung announced the new Galaxy SmartTag3 Bluetooth tracker, built around a smaller form factor, longer battery life, and expanded location-finding capabilities. It will be available first in Korea from 7 October 2026 (in White and Black colors), followed by the United States, with additional markets to follow in 2027.
Samsung Galaxy SmartTag3
The Galaxy SmartTag3 is approximately 35% smaller by volume and 33% lighter than its predecessor, with a rounded form finished with an aluminum-decorated button. Accordingly, Samsung has introduced new official accessories, including a Silicone Case with a keyring and a Loop Case.

For the first time in the Galaxy SmartTag lineup, the SmartTag3 supports cross-OS compatibility between Galaxy and iOS devices. Through SmartThings Find, users on either platform can check and share a tag’s location and use Search Nearby, a feature Samsung says is useful when sharing tagged items, such as a suitcase, between family members using different device types. The tracker offers up to 550 days of battery life under standard usage, extending to up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode.
The Galaxy SmartTag3 significantly expands the range of its Compass View feature through Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding, which provides distance and directional guidance from up to 60m away, roughly three times farther than the previous generation. As users approach the tagged item, ultra-wideband (UWB) technology takes over for more precise guidance at close range. When the tag moves beyond direct connection range, the Galaxy Find Network – which includes more than 900 million participating Galaxy devices worldwide – can help detect the tag and update its location.
A new feature called Place Notification lets users define an area and receive an alert when a tagged item moves in or out of it, such as a pet leaving a garden or a bicycle moving from its usual parking spot. This is complemented by Location History, which lets users review where a tag has been over the past seven days, and Movement Detection Alert, which notifies users when movement is detected while the tag is disconnected from their device.

The device retains an IP67 water and dust resistance rating and carries over existing Galaxy SmartTag features, including NFC-powered Lost Mode, SmartThings IoT Control for triggering connected device routines, and Left Behind Alert, which notifies users when their phone loses connection with a tagged item. Samsung notes that location data is encrypted, and several features, including Compass View, Ring Phone, and Left Behind Alert, are not available on iOS.
Pokdepinion: That is quite small even by tracker standards.
