Upcoming Acer Laptops Will Be Powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 Mobile CPU
Acer has revealed that there will be a new version of their Aspire 5 laptop coming this year, and it will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 4000 Mobile CPU. Moreover, they’ve also announced the release date for the Ryzen-powered Swift 3 laptop.
The Acer Aspire 5 is an ultraportable laptop with a 15.6-inch display, up to 24GB RAM, and up to 1TB SSD. It’s powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U CPU with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz that can be boosted up to 4 GHz.
The Acer Swift 3 on the other hand is an ultraportable laptop with a 14-inch Full HD display, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 512GB SSD storage. It is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U CPU with a clock speed of 2GHz that can be boosted up to 4.1 GHz. It is said to have an aluminum body with a magnesium-aluminum lid with a “svelte and stylist” look. The battery life is said to be as long as 11.5 hours per full charge.
As you can see, both laptops are powered by the U-series CPU, which is designed for ultraportable devices. They are also meant to be affordable laptops, with the Acer Aspire 5 targeted as a budget option for families and small businesses.
Ryzen-based Acer Laptops Availability and Pricing
The Ryzen-based Acer Swift 3 will be available from April 2020 with prices starting from USD $629 whereas the Ryzen-based Acer Aspire 5 will be available in June 2020 with prices starting from USD $519.
