Acer has made a pretty big presence at the IFA 2025 trade show with its annual next@acer event, and there’s a big surprise: Intel’s upcoming Panther Lake lineup of processors made its debut on Acer’s new Swift 16 AI laptop, set to launch in 2026.

The last time we saw a formal presence of Panther Lake was during the small-scale Computex 2025 briefing that saw the chip still situated inside a validation system; and right at the Berlin show floor, this Acer laptop is now running this yet-to-be-formally-named chip. Intel claims the upcoming generation will feature new architecture, faster onboard graphics and gaming performance, along with improved battery life and next-gen AI. It’ll also consolidate the currently split Core Ultra 200 lineup consisting of Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake-based chips.

As for the laptop itself, some of the specs listed in the show floor include “up to 16-inch 3K OLED 120Hz” display, “up to 32GB LPDDR5X” memory, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support. Notably though, Acer boasts its laptop featuring the “world’s largest haptic trackpad with stylus support” – admittedly a bit too specific to claim a world-first title, but from the photos it does look like the touchpad is indeed huge.

As mentioned, the laptop will launch in 2026, most likely during CES which will be at January next year, which is a typical launch period for yearly laptop refreshes, and we’ll also be seeing the formal launch of Panther Lake from the chipmaker as well.
