Latest ASUS ROG Laptops Landing in Malaysia This Month, Preorder Opens Today
First batch of ROG laptops are expected to arrive in mid-February.
Recently announced in CES, the new ROG laptops will be available in Malaysia soon under STRIX and Zephyrus series. It is expected that Intel-powered variants will be the first to arrive and AMD counterparts will begin limited rollout in the end of February.
Among the first models to arrive will be Intel-powered STRIX SCAR 18 and SCAR 16, though no specific dates as ASUS only mentioned “Mid Feb” for its launch window. Both machines are powered by Intel’s flagship Core i9-13980HX CPU, paired with NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 for the 18-inch and 4080 for the 16-inch model. Pricing is set at RM18,999 and RM13,999 respectively. On the Team Red side, both 17-inch models will have the Ryzen 9 7945HX 16-core CPU paired with 4090 and 4080; but pricing is not known so far. Both models are expected to launch by the end of February.
STRIX G series on the other hand is led by Intel’s finest once again, with the STRIX G18 featuring Core i9-13980HX paired with RTX 4070 for the price of RM10,499. The smaller STRIX G16 meanwhile will have two configurations both powered by Core i7-13650HX with two different GPUs: RTX 4050 and RTX 3050. Both are priced at RM6,699 and RM5,999 respectively – and all three aforementioned models will launch by end of February. The sole AMD model, with updated STRIX G17 chassis is a Ryzen 9 7945HX + RTX 4070 pairing, but will only be available from April onwards.
The ROG Zephyrus Pro continues to be powered by AMD chips – with Ryzen 9 7945HX paired with the choice of RTX 4090 and RTX 4080. No pricing is known yet – and availability is set to April onwards as well. Over at Intel-exclusive Zephyrus M16, three configurations ranging from RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 will be paired with Intel’s Core i9-13900H, priced at RM17,999, RM14,999 and RM10,999 respectively and will be available by the end of this month.
Zephyrus G16 meanwhile features one of the previous generation Intel chips, but also will be among the first to go on sale. The Core i7-12700H + RTX 4050 combo will set you back for RM6,999; two other models with Core i9-13900H + RTX 4060 and Core i7-13620H + RTX 4050 will only be available from April onwards. Finally the AMD-exclusive Zephyrus G14 will see three models, with the Ryzen 7 7735HS + RTX 3050 pair set to release mid-March at RM6,499. Two other models featuring RTX 4050 with Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 7 7735HS (with AniMe Matrix display) will be released from April onwards.
