The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition is co-developed with Intel and features the chipmaker’s new Core Ultra 200V series (Lunar Lake) processors, and it comes with a new feature called “Smart Modes” – think of it as a souped-up version of power profiles you may find on your laptop, and it can trigger certain features like turning on VPN, usage timers, and webcam settings depending on the mode you use.

Elsewhere, Lenovo expanded its business PC portfolio with the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 and ThinkBook 16 Gen 7+ powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors, while the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor.

Additionally, the laptop maker also presented the Auto Twist AI PC concept, and it can be rotated to flip the screen outward through pivoting the display. The ‘AI’ parts come in two parts: one, the display will track user movements to always face the user’s direction (and close the lid on its own if the user is away); and two, the voice interaction that LLM AIs are commonly known for, which gives users the ability to command the laptop by natural language.

No pricing or availability information has been announced so far, so expect it’ll take a bit of time before these new laptops (sans the concept) land in Malaysia at some point in the future.

Pokdepinion: Interesting concept – but wouldn’t a detachable display solve most of the problem anyway?
