Following the announcement of Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC program, Lenovo unveils Yoga Slim 7x as its first Snapdragon X series-powered laptop, qualifying it as the new Copilot+ PC. The laptop is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 SoC, with 16GB LPDDR5X-8448 RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD (M.2 2242) for storage.

The chassis measures just 12.9mm thick and tips the scales at 1.28kg, packing a 70Wh battery that should last for 16 hours based on the fine print written on the laptop’s product page. I/O is minimized to just three USB4 ports, so you’ll most likely need to carry an adapter or dongle around if you’re plugging anything else on the laptop. As for the display, it packs a 14.5-inch 3K (2944 x 1840) 90Hz OLED touch panel with 1,000 nits peak brightness, Delta E of less than 1, 100% sRGB/DCI-P3 color space, as well as Dolby Vision and DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification.

For teleconferencing, the Yoga Slim 7x comes with a 1080p MIPI IR webcam accompanied by webcam shutter and a quartet of microphones, while Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 takes care of connectivity. One unique feature of the laptop is the keyboard, which is coated with an anti-oil layer to improve typing feel and comfort.

Lenovo’s implementation of AI features mainly focuses on resource allocation, similar to its LA-series coprocessors found in Legion laptops that focus on providing the best balance of power between CPU and GPU. In this case, the Lenovo AI Core will figure out the balance of performance and efficiency based on the workload.

As for when will the Yoga Slim 7x be released, we’ll have to wait for now – Lenovo says more details will be announced at a later date.

Pokdepinion: I honestly prefer this approach of utilizing NPUs instead of the “generative AI” stuffs.
