Sonos Ace Debuts As Sonos Officially Enters Headphones Market
Everyone knows Sonos for its range of soundbars and speakers, but there’s one segment that the audio maker has yet to address thus far: headphones. Enter Sonos Ace, the company’s first headphones – and it is coming to Malaysia soon.
The Sonos Ace is an over-ear Bluetooth headphones with all the features you’ve come to expect from a premium headphone, such as active noise cancellation (ANC), touch controls, fast charging, and more. Sonos’ products are known for their seamless integration, and here the headphone gets a feature that allows the user to redirect audio from a compatible Sonos soundbar into the headphones with the tap of a button.
The battery onboard the Ace is claimed to last 30 hours on a single charge, and you can get up to 3 hours with just 3 minutes of fast charging via the included USB-C cable. Sonos has also designed the ear cups – made of memory foam wrapped by vegan leather – to feature contrasting colors, which makes identifying the left/right side easier. It also includes wear detection, which pauses the music to save on battery if it detects the headphones were taken off.
For the Malaysian market, Sonos will be releasing the Sonos Ace via its local distributor TC Acoustic and select retailers, at the price of RM2,299 when it launches on 5 June 2024. Before that, customers can now pre-order the headphones via tcacoutic.asia website, or head to the Sonos Concept Store at Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
Pokdepinion: That’s quite the steep price to compare against something like Sony’s XM5 headphones.
