Epson announced its new Lifestudio Grand Plus EH-LS970B in Malaysia, as an all-in-one projector with large-format 4K projection, AI-powered image processing and integrated Sound by Bose speakers. The projector can display content from 80 to 150 inches while positioned close to the wall, using an ultra-short-throw design that avoids the need for a large mounted display or a projector placed across the room.

The EH-LS970B has an ultra-short throw ratio of 0.16, producing a 120-inch image when placed approximately 17.3cm from the screen, with a maximum size of 150 inches. Its 3LCD laser projection system outputs up to 4,000 lumens of color and white brightness (which Epson says is good enough to use in rooms with ambient lighting rather than strictly requiring a fully darkened environment), with a contrast ratio rated above 5,000,000:1.
Audio comes from an integrated 20W 2.1-channel Sound by Bose speaker system, which Epson says removes the need for a separate speaker setup; a Bluetooth Speaker Mode allows the unit to function as a standalone audio system when not projecting. The projector runs Google TV, providing access to services including Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube, along with Google Cast and voice control support.
The EH-LS970B uses an AI-powered TV chip that analyzes content in real time and adjusts the image for each scene. This includes AI Super Resolution for sharpness and fine detail, and AI Picture Quality, which adjusts settings based on the content being shown. Additional processing features include Dynamic Color Booster, Local Contrast and De-contour Processing, aimed at improving color, contrast and gradient handling.
The Epson Lifestudio Grand Plus EH-LS970B is now available in Malaysia. Epson noted that availability and configurations may vary, though pricing was not disclosed in the announcement.
