Xiaomi Unveils Global Launch of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra at MWC
In a grand event held in Barcelona ahead of MWC, Xiaomi introduced its latest flagship smartphones to the international market. The spotlight was on the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra, both powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro remains exclusive to the Chinese market.
Xiaomi 14
To begin with, the Xiaomi 14 features a 6.36” LTPO OLED display with a remarkable peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The panel boasts a 1200p resolution and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The rear camera setup has undergone a complete overhaul, housing three 50 MP shooters.
The primary camera features a brighter f/1.6 aperture with a larger 1/1.31” sensor equipped with dual-pixel PDAF. The telephoto camera boasts a 75 mm equivalent 3.2x zoom lens, accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle lens. Notably, the Xiaomi 14 packs a slightly larger 4,610 mAh battery, supporting faster 90W wired charging, and maintaining the 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging capabilities.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
Meanwhile, the recently unveiled Xiaomi 14 Ultra in China has now made its global debut. Sporting a 6.73” LTPO AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, the device features a custom protective sheet called Shield Glass. The primary 50 MP camera has an upgraded variable aperture, reaching a brighter f/1.6 with a stepless function for all intermediate positions.
It also adopts a new 1”-type sensor. The telephoto, 3.2x telephoto, and ultra-wide-angle shooters retain the same specifications as the predecessor, featuring 50 MP Sony IMX858 sensors. Surprisingly, the European market gets a 5,000 mAh battery, while maintaining support for 90W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The phone comes with Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box.

Pokdepinion: While I’m very excited to see the Ultra in person, I’m more invested in the base model as it’s a lot more accessible to a whole lot more people. We might have something to share on that soon so stay tuned.
